Ok, so the guild has been working steadily since its forming a while ago, and the leaders have been learning how the guild members are in general, and what things work and what dont etc...
So, finally, I am happy to present the plan for TBC! Dont take it as 100% fact, but as a plan of what we would like to happen.
1) Changes to weekly schedule:
We have tried out pretty much every day of the week now, and have learnt what time you lot are mostly active and free for events, so we plan to work like this:
Tuesday: PvE Raid
Thursday: PvE Raid
Friday: PvE Raid
Saturday and Sunday: Mix of RP, PvP, and other things if people want them.
This would leave Monday and Wednesday as free days.
2) Introduction of Modified DKP system.
As scary as this sounds, I think that it will benefit about 90% of the guild members. Our current loot system is too luck based, and open to exploitation. For example we have seen people coming along, managing to get an epic, blue, a bunch of tokens, then they bugger off and dont raid again whilst loyal, regular members cant get what they want.
The DKP system will, in short, reward members for arriving on time, being at the keyboard for boss kills, and also emphasise that the guild is not only about PvE, but also about RP. [As RP meetings will have small DKP bonuses most likely, but nothing system breaking.]
The DKP system should be easy to use and understand, as blind bidding will be used to the raid leader to avoid tactical bidding or gang bidding etc... We hope this will make people enjoy themselves more, as they know they will be getting loot along with everyone else, rather than watching one member of their class win it all through luck.
3) 25 man raids
Not much to say here, but as our group is pretty solidly built for 25-manning, I think that we can finally rise up and see the content the other guilds are seeing, no longer being the casual guild that only does 1 dungeon with success!
4) Developing as a community
As TBC introduces a lot more casual content for 5 man groups, both inside instances and in the game world, we are looking forward to the guild and its ally Iron Wheel becomming alot more integrated, with the two guilds using channels to find groups, helping each other out and so forth. TBC really is shifting the target of WoW to both medium and large guilds, and I hope we can prosper with that!
So, thanks for reading all of that, I hope you enjoy TBC as much as I suspect I will.
