<To be sticky>
Due to the annoying nature of people turning up 30 minutes late and expecting their spaces to still be reserved for them, a new rule has been forced to occur.
You must be in the raid group 15 minutes before the start, and must be inside the instance itself at the exact start time for buffing.
Also, we have been doing this for weeks now but I will announce it so you all understand: People who are on time get Bijous and other Reputation items [So that this rule covers TBC].
If you are late, you risk the following: -Losing your raid slot -Losing your Bijou/Rep item

guess this topic is a little about me, then i have something to say: 1st - thats a new rule - i always have been inside instance and in raid before 1900, even though i log at 18.59, so its ok with previos rule 2nd - last tuesday situation - i wrote that i can be late up to 30 minutes and asked you to wait if u can, you wrote "Updated to here" and then flamed me for being late (20 minutes) - i didnt got my spot ofc... now you say its annoying - tell me, for who? 3rd - wasnt there supposed to be prio for our guild members to have spots in raids? tonight for example several ppl from outside replaced our guys who cant come and was on tuesdays run (Dark, Eluna, maybe more i dont remeber) rate is 13/7 for ours atm 4th - think of what to do with ppl like me now: i was raiding with you regulary, and now i feel like a backup, confusing...
to sum things up - we have 20++ active members + alliance with IW and TCS, we used to raid 1 or times/week - thats not enough imo
i like the idea of this rule but isnt it simple to just say 18.45 raid time?

Ok, reply to all that:
1) We buffed 15 minutes before start, people turning up on the dot at 19:00 means we lose time with more buffing.
2) I already explained this to you, and I have not flamed anyone. If you feel another officer has done so send me a tell in game and we can chat.
3) Dark wasn't able to go yesterday, so he asked for us to replace him. Also I made it clear that you had to sign to keep your reserved space. 15 minutes before buffing I filled the empty slots as I wanted to begin on time, rather than keep everyone waiting for people who may not even turn up at all.
4) We are currently sorting a new raid system where we can cater for everyone.
5) Thats the problem, we don't have 20 active members who raid. Iron Wheel and TCS are filling 5-6 slots every raid. Only once have we had more than 20 signs. Also, I am trying to push 3 raids a week if people will let me.
6) If I simply change the raid time to 15 minutes earlier, some will turn up early and wait around for ages, others will still say "Oh, I will be 15 minutes late." Its easier to simply enforce the rule of being early for buffing.

yeh u be hawt dark! No seriously, i can see what Beger means, but then again, also what Tae means.. Problem is that you need to be a bit "strict" with such issues, or people will tend to slack. But, the strictness can easily get the officer "un-popular" in several peoples eyes. No matter what, we gotta remember that it aint easy to satisfy a whole guild all the time, but they're doing their best. Everytime you catch yourself thinking "damn officers, playing gods with the raid spots". Send a thought to the old TRC, and the way that was lead oh and a little complaint from my behalf.. The tuesdays part of the ZG raid. I realise i signed as back-up, even without noticing. And thats life really. But i found it a bit annoying that when i asked for a spot 4mins past 19.00. I was asked to hold on. I waited like 10 mins, guildchannel had been quiet for that time. Then i started asking in guildchannel about the process, i asked several times. Never got a reply. And yes, i do realise the officers are busy handling the raid at this moment. But atleast some of the other guildmembers in the raid could show some sign of life. I ended up having to whisper Galv-i-Rub for the info. Tiny problem, yes i know. But a little goes a long way.

Two things I have to say: Of course, we need strictness with raids because noone should wait for people who don't show up.
Other than that, having to be there 15 minutes early might (but won't nesseccarily) cause problems for me, as I eat at 18:00, which takes from 15-30 minutes. Then, on some days, I need to do dishes as well as clear the table. This can put up another 15 minutes if I need to get firewood as well, so being there 15 minutes before can sometimes become difficult for me. Which is why I tend to always log out right out/inside the instance on raid nights I'm attending.
Hope you can see what I mean with the part of it becomming very tight scheduled for me sometimes.

Indeedo Qi, but as you also said, there gotta be some strictness.. Or people will start slacking. You all know this from the school days, if the teacher is a wimp, what will then happend, will the pupils start working harder? Le no, they'll start slacking But for some its the bummer i agree Qi.

I see all your points, but I have to draw the line somewhere in a futile attempt to content people.
The signing for the last raid was borked, because people simply didnt read me saying that sign-ups must be done to reserve slots, leading to drama over "I came on Tuesday but now I get no space". This was furthered by another officer then claiming Tuesday had priority either way.
Have no fear, everything will be more controlled in the future I hope.

This is in action today, just to see how many people who signed for ZG bothered to read the sticky at the same time.
