[ as some of you know this is my first RP server, so this is still kinda new to me, here's my first attempt at a IC story, criticism is wanted but may not be accepted ]
Can you recall a perfect day? One you look upon and just thing ‘yes’ I can. . .at least it was perfect. All was at peace, even the orc were being civil. My family were having a small get together, a few friends you know. . .a kind of party I guess, the day was to nice to waste on anything else. Everything was perfect! Even my father was here, and that was something I personally thought this party should be about, my dad. . . .he’d been fighting, I suppose that’s what warriors do but he’d been gone a very, very long time and I’d missed him. It was good to see him smile again.
My mother was cooking, I was helping and was feeling rather proud about that
‘My little Junni’s almost all grown up’ she said as she handed me a bowl to take out to the others, I smiled and took it out. My father was telling stories about his travels and about all the battles. I wasn’t allowed to hear these, my mother did not see his war stories fit for my ears but my brother, oh he was allowed to hear them and you could tell he liked them. . . .at least the bruises on my back could. After another filling meal people started to leave, the sun was setting. . . .it was beautiful, they always used to make me smile. My father came and sat by me as I was watching it, you have to understand that my communication with my father was poor at best, he always spoke of battles and my mother would shun me away.
‘Ahh Junni, you’ve grown a bit since I last saw you’ he smiled as he put his arms out to hug me, I smiled and grabbed him.
‘I missed you, are you staying this time?’
‘Yes little Junni, I’m staying now the orc are at bay now’ this was great news for out family, with him going away for so long we hadn’t really had much of an upbringing, my mother was always at the temple so me and my brother were left at home alone quite a lot.
We stayed and watched the sunset together, no words were spoken, we were content just being with each other, but wait. . .what was that noise. . . .sounded like. . . .drums? My father stood up told me to go back to the house and alert the other, the orc were coming. Panicked I fled running as fast as I could yelling and screaming all the way ‘The orc are coming’ in hope someone would hear me. I got back home and ran to my mother screaming about it begging her to come and run to the woods with me but it seems I was to late. The orc pushed through the door and grabbed my little brother the threw him up against a wall knocking him out. Me and my mother cowered, these things were huge! One of them went over to my brother and picked him up as if he weighted nothing and took him out of the house.
Another group of orc ‘escorted’ me and my mother to another building, I say escorted we were picked up and carried, no amount of struggling could get us free from these beasts arms. We were locked in a room, I was terrified, every part of me shaking my thoughts fixated on my brother and father.
‘Junni?’ my mother whispered ‘Junni, come here little one.’ I turned to her, looked her dead in the eye and cried out ‘WHY?!’ as I broke down in to tears. . . .’Why? I don’t understand, what’s happening?’ I continued to yell as I fell into my mothers arms begging her to answer me so some of this could be justified. . . .I relieved no answer. I went to hold my mother but as I put my arms around her I felt this warm liquid all over her back. . .’Mother?’ I inquired ‘Mother, are you okay?’ I lifted my head to look at her, was she breathing?. . .as I brought my hands up to tap her face I saw the blood. . .masses of it all over my hands, she was dying. ‘NO! NO, this can’t happen’ I yelled ‘This isn’t fair! What did I ever do to deserve this hu?’ I was enraged by the little respect for me this so called light seemed to have, I mean what did –I- ever do to it? And now it’s going to take my whole family away from me?
The hours past by, I sat in my cell huddled up to the wall crying, pleading for something good to happen, for the orc guards to leave for something good! The door swung open, I stayed still and silent I could see the shadow of an orc dance across the opposing wall. He stood over my mother and laughed, started to speak but I couldn’t understand it. I sat biting my lip as he kicked my mother to the ground. . .more orc came surrounded my mother, I couldn’t see what was happening. One removed a small dagger from his boot and slowly advanced it to where I assumed my mother must be. . .I listened, trying to work out what was happening but all of the sounds were so unfamiliar. I closed my eyes and bit my lip harder holding back my screams and cried, when are they going to stop? I thought to myself. It felt like another hour passed before the orc left, one by one they seemed to trail out of the room until only one was left. . .the one with the blade. . .he was one of the biggest orc I’d seen his huge frame hid my mother from my sight come on, leave. . .go away I pleaded in my head and to my surprise as soon as I thought it he left, rather suddenly. Things are looking up I thought as I crawled slowly over to my mother ‘Mother? Mother are you awake? They’ve gone now everything’s alright’ I got closer and reached out to her hand. . .she grabbed it, she was lying in a pool of her own blood, her body completely mutilated
‘Mother no!’ I cried. . .’You’re going to die! I’m so sorry, I’m sorry I wasn’t strong enough please don’t die. . .please!’ I put my hands over her, tried to stop the blood as best I could. My mother turned to me
‘J-J-Junni. . .take these’ she rasped gulping for air as she handed me some breads ‘These beads were. . .these were. ..’ I could hear the pain in her voice as she tried to talk ‘Your grandmother gave these to me just before. . .b-b-before she. . .’
‘No mother, you’re not dying, please you can’t’ I sobbed grabbing her hands
‘Please Junni, just listen. . .these beads were from your grandmother, she past them on to me when she didn’t need them anymore’ she gasped for air, he pain was clear to see from her face ‘Take them. . .’ she said thrusting them in to my hands, the blood made them glisten in the light, I could see different symbols of our faith and forefathers
‘I guess they’re kind of pretty’ I smiled, trying to look on the brighter side of the situation, I knew my mother was dying. . .i could feel it but none the less she turned and smiled at me and said in a very weak whisper
‘Maybe you can wear them at your wedding’ a tear ran down my cheek as I replied
‘You’ll have to come to make sure’ I forced a smile and tried to hold back my tears
‘I promise. . .’ she said smiling as the last few ounces of strength drained from her body.
‘NOOO!!’ I laid my hand on my mother badly wounded body, the beads started to glow slightly as I did so but unaware of this fact at the time I continued to put pressure on to the worst injuries maybe helping a little bit, the beads glowed brighter ‘Please, someone, anyone help me!’ I yelled, the beads let forth a huge blast of light knocking me backwards. . .I shielded my eyes. . . I could hardly make out anything, I’d never seen anything so bright before.
‘Í knew you could do it. . .’ it was my mother. . .she was speaking and she sounded fine ’My little priestess, come here darling, it’s ok’ I was confused. . . priestess? Who was she talking to? ‘It’s ok Junni’ my mother said in a calming voice as she stood up ‘You. . .you’re not hurt anymore?’ I enquired confused about what just happened, my mother laughed and smiled at me
‘I knew you could do it, I knew you were ready’ by this point the light had faded and my mother was stood before me no cuts, no scratches, no nothing.
‘I’m confused’ I said ‘What just happened, what was that, what are these?’ I threw the beads before my mother.
‘They’re the extra spark you needed, congratulations little one! No one believed me when I said you were ready, but I knew you were’ I questioned my mother
‘Ready for what?’ she smiled at me and picked up the beads
‘Do you know what these are?’ I shook my head ‘Well these beads are used to channel out energy, and that’s what they just did. . .they took your energy and transferred it to me. . .Junni, you did this. . .that power you saw was coming from you’
‘That was. . . me?’ impossible I thought, I wasn’t due to receive any power yet I was to young! My mothers voice turned serious
‘Understand this Junni, this power is a good power, a holy power one that I encourage you to use.’ She turned her back to me and began to stare intently at the night sky from the window ‘There’s not much time. . .we have to leave’
‘but I’m still confused, what’s happening, where are we going?’
